Brucan, Magureanu, Iliescu, generals Militaru and Ionita have plotted, under the Soviet protection, against Ceausescu’s deposition.
Ceausescu’s fall didn’t come alone. Even the Revolution was externally “stimulated”. Moscow, Washington, Paris or London counted on their influential people from Romania.
The internal plots can be thus grouped into: “old party activists”, “servicemen”, and “perestroikistii”.
“Old Stalinists”, under Silviu Brucan, grouped around the core that assumed the “Letter of the six”. “The servicemen” have acted especially during Nicoale Militaru, Ion Ionita and Stefan Kostyal’s generations. “Perestroikistii” were under the leadership of Virgil Magureanu and Ion Iliescu.
