Romania, on the seventh place in EU after the number of the new-born

Romania was on the seventh place in the European Union, last year, according to the number of new-born children, but the population decreased in the sane period by about 30,000 people, as a consequence of the big number of deaths.

According to the data released today by Eurostat, in 2008 in Romania there were born 222,000 children. Most children were born in France (835,000), Great Britain (794,000), Germany (675,000), Italy (576,000), Spain (519,000) and Poland (414,000).

The countries where there were the least children born were Malta (4,000), Luxembourg (6,000) and Cyprus (9,000).
