The judges receive on average annually about 11,000 lei holiday bonus, beside their salaries. Less of the spending goes to the professional education.

The Romanian magistrates continue the strike because the new pay law would reduce their huge incomes.
According to the statistics, the state spends around 75 million lei every year for the judges’ special rights: holiday bonuses, house rents, medicines, free transportation and pension allowances.
Last year statistics, concerning only judges within Appellate Courts, bars and courts, show that for these rights involved 56 million lei costs, among which 39 million only for holiday bonuses.
At the other side, there are the costs for the professional preparation: 241,000 lei.
The statistics on the first half of this year have a similar carriage. Reporting the amounts to the number of judges, results that a magistrate receives on average about 11,000 lei for a holiday and only 68 lei for the professional preparation.
