Romanian Constitutional Court: the motion is constitutional

The Romanian Constitutional Court decided the no-confidence motion submitted by the opposition parties (PNL and PSD) in the Parliament is constitutional and rejected PD-L’s request on the unconstitutionality of the motion. Tomorrow the parliamentarians will debate and vote the motion. In case it is voted, Boc administration falls.

The control of the motions’ constitutionality does not fall in the court’s attributions, it is shown in the release issued by RCC. 

The court stressed that ruling on the legitimacy of no-confidence motions does not fall in its attributions and rejected the democrat liberals' notification as inadmissible.

Opposition liberals and the Hungarian minority party, backed by some social democrats, who left the coalition government last week, submitted Tuesday a no-confidence motion to overthrow Prime Minister Emil Boc's minority democrat liberal government.
