The Romanian social democrat secretaries of state will resign from the government in solidarity with the social democrat ministers.
Social democrat secretaries of state within ministries run by democrat liberals will do the same thing.
According to the government protocol, the ministries run by democrat liberals each have one social democrat secretary of state. President Traian Basescu Thursday signed the prime minister's proposition to sack social democrat Interior Minister Dan Nica and appointed democrat liberal Development Minister Vasile Blaga as interim.
Romania's center-left coalition government of democrat liberals and social democrats has been on the verge of a split since Monday, when democrat liberal Prime Minister Emil Boc fired Nica.
