Dacian Ciolos was nominated for European Commissioner

Bucharest Government has nominated Dacian Ciolos, former ministerof Agriculture, for the function of European Commissioner. The proposal will be handed to President Traian Basescu on Monday, the prime minister Emil Boc announced.
The Government has nominated Dacian Ciolos for the European commissioner. The nomination will be turned in to the head of tstae and EU. We 've reached this decision after the Lisbon Treaty was voted by Ireland, ratified by Poland and is pending ratification by the Czech Republic, Boc stated today.
Ciolos has been minister of agriculture between October 2007 and December 2008, in the liberal government led by Calin Tariceanu.
EU member states' Governments propose candidates for European commissioner and their portfolio is decided by the European Commission, according to European procedures.
