The number of unemployment claims estimated by Romanian minister of Labor, Marian Sarbu, has reached 620,000. according to the data released by the National Forecast Commission.

Minister Marian Sarbu said in Romania, unlike other European countries, the crisis has specific effects on the labor market.
"We have great workforce resources in rural areas and they will be the biggest challenge for the Romanian labor market. Romania is still practicing subsistence farming and many EU funds will be directed to the rural areas,” Sarbu said.
The Romanian minister underscored that unemployment is on the rise in Romania and will near 6%.
