Nightmare drivers coming from the following categories: businessman, sportsmen, manele singers.

The recent road accidents brought back in the attention of the public opinion the phenomenon of the road hogs, which showed even more aggressive this year.

This summer, businessman George Copos, football players Cristian Tanase, as well as the son of the former prime-minister Adrian Tanase, Andrei, had been left without their driver’s licenses for exceeding the legal speed limit by over 50 km/h. Yesterday, manele singer Nicoale Guta joined the group. He was caught by the Romanian police driving with 152 km/h in Sibiu district.

Yesterday, as well, Cristian Pitulescu (aged 29) hit with his car a bar in the Bucharest neighborhood of Drumul Taberei; five people had been injured in the accident. The young man got his driver’s license in 2006 and had raised 20 contravention sanctions so far.

Psychiatrist Florin Tudose talks about the behavior of these pseudo-celebrities.

It is a way of showing their power complex, power usually translated in money, by means of which they show their contempt for the others that are poorer and weaker says Florin Tudose.

From the beginning of the year, the Road Police has suspended the driver’s licenses for speed limit to over 17,000 drivers. Nevertheless, the excessive speed remains the main cause of dead accidents in Romania.
