Mircea Ionescu, the former Romtelecom head, who receives EUR 1,700 unemployment social assistance, is building an asylum for old people. Even if in 2008 Ionescu’s fortune was estimated at about EUR 11 million, he says he hasn’t got any income and must receive unemployment help assistance.
Businessman Mircea Ionescu, aged 53, owns companies and properties which made him to be among the 25 people from Timisoara present in the “Adevărul 500 Billionaires Top”.
Ionescu’s fortune, estimated at EUR 11 million, is almost equal to Florentin Banu’s, the one who created Joe waffles businesses and Artime store chains. Ionescu was evaluated higher than Gheorhge Iova, owner of Recaş Wine Vaults.
Now, after the real estate market’s fall it’s not certain that his fortune values that much, told us a person close to Ionescu. The man owns also some slots of land and he was on the verge of starting a new business in March 2009, when he was announced he had to quit the function of Romtelecom regional director.
