The decision of the Romanian minister of Education, Ecaterina Andronescu, for 100,000 graduates of Spiru Haret University, who have taken unaccredited courses, to repeat the graduation examination stirred controversy.

Law experts say students who graduated can take the ministry and the university to court if they are forced to retake the final exam.
The National Authority for the Consumer’s Protection solicited the Ministry of Education, in a letter, to establish a meeting to clear the situation of the university.
Since the diplomas’ release is a topic that regards the Ministry of Education and the organs responsible with the insurance of the quality in the educational system, I sent them a letter to set an official meeting. After this meeting we’ll decide what needs to be done next” explained the authority’s president, Bogdan Pandelică.
