Analysis FRF and LPF heads have generated, in the last 20 years, a long-term disaster

Romania’s humiliation in Serbia (0-5 in Belgrad, in the preliminaries of 2010 Championship) is just an effect of the profound crisis that the Romanian football has been facing. “Adevarul” makes an analysis of the causes that make us talk about king-sport at past tense.

Football’s failures originate in the lack of strategy of those who have coordinated the Romanian football since 1990. Mircea Sandu, president of the Romanian Football Federation, and Dumitru Dragomir, head of the Professional League of Football, have not been able to elaborate coherent plans and have tolerated generalized corruption.

• Scandalous arbitration has never stopped, while FRF and LPF commissions competed in abusive decisions.
• The juvenile sector was completely ignored, even in the moments when calcifications at final tours used to fill the federal treasury. Junior trainers are bad paid.

• We lack modern stadiums, sportive basis and recreation areas for children.
• Huge amounts of money resulted from the transfers of football players have vanished in the pockets of the managers involved.
• Endless scandals caused by football club owners, beginning with Gigi Becali and Cristi Borcea, have chased away many fans.
