Thursday, July 16, 2009 – a disgraceful day for Romania. A terrifying message rises during the European League football match between Bucharest Steaua and Budapest Ujpest: How long does the Magyar woman bear the c…p inside? Nine months! And the message has been up for minutes in a row, without a single intervention from those involved in the match organization.
There has been six days since the event, but nobody - from the tribune, from Steaua team or from the Romanian Gendarmerie – paid for the infamy. There were only the Magyar club heads who appealed discreetly to the Union of European Football Associations.
“Adevărul“ is even more firm in a letter addressed to the European forum, in which the Romanian paper asks the guilty to be harshly sanctioned for their deeds! Faithful to its values, our newspaper cherishes humanity and civilization. We can live without qualifications or football games, but we are lost without these values.
In the same time, we ask the Magyar citizens to forgive us for the greasy act committed by Steaua’s supporters. We, the civilized Romanian people, will always be there for them, in an united Europe that is our common home.
