I. Romanian Press Club Statute. Section 2/Articles of Association

The aim of Association: (1) Romanian Press Club Association has its aim in creating the organizational framework necessary to promote the professional, economical and legislative interests of its members, to develop the institutional relations with state authorities, with civil society and other similar organizations in the country or from abroad, to materialize some activities and initiatives that promote professionalism, ethical values of journalism and social responsibility of this profession.

Section 16. BH: (4) BH is responsible for the fulfilling the aim and the statuary objectives of the association, Romanian Press Club, having as main competences the following:a) it protects and militates for strict observance of the Deontological Code by all members of Romanian Press Club, as well the principles regarding press freedom and the fundamental right every citizen have to be given true information and honest opinions.

b)initiates an inquiry and can be notified of any break of the DC

d)it defends the profession of journalist by any aggression or encroachment from the state power or other kind of power, assuming an active role, a public attitude, in all the situations estimated as such.

Section 20. Rights and obligations: (2) All members of the Association have the following obligations: a) to respect the association`s articles, the provisions of the Deontological Code and other documents of Romanian Press Club

Section 21 About resignation and other penalties: (2) The non-observance of the DC of journalists, approved by the general meeting of RPC brings about the sanctions prescribed by the Regulation of HB and the Association Articles

(3) On a written complaint made by one of its member against another member, Hb analises the situation created, inclusevly by the obligatory hearings of the parties, and decides in accordance with its own regulation and the provisions of the DC

II Regulation of the HB Section 2.1.19: (HB….)settles the sanctions given for the non-observance of the DC, in accordance with section 28 of Association Articles, choosing from the following: private warning, public delimitation and exclusion. These sanctions are given in the order they were mentioned above, the private warning being verbal and confidential.

Regulation of HB: Section 7.3. HB is the internal organism of the RPC which has as an aim in solving conflicts between its members or conflicts between its members and third parties.

Section 7.4. Any member of Romanian Press Club is encouraged to resort HB to solve conflicts, in accordance with the previous section.

Section 7.5. HB is obliged to attentively treat such notifications.

Structure Principles: (1) The Association RPC it is organized and it function based on the principles of free association, professional solidarity, press deontology and the legality of its actions and activities, in consideration of recommendations or regulations of European institutions in matters of journalism and deontology of press.

Section 5. Association`s objectives: (1)To raise public reputation and strengthen ethical and civic authority of Romanian press, the association RPC is to propose the following objectives: a)to protect, by specific methods, the journalists` interests and those of the press publishers and owners in relation with the state authorities, with economical environment and the business one, in Romania or abroad.

b) to ensure a climate of collaboration and true fellowship between its members, so that behind the specific differences and the loyalty of competition on Romanian press market, the supporting, the promotion and the defending of common interests must prevail

c) to assume the solving inside organization, by its own methods, of all cases it`s notified or initiaded an inquiry about.

II The Regulation of HB section 11. HB is an internal organism of RPC, having as aims the promotion of a free, professional and competitonal press environment in Romania and the supervision of activities between RPC, between the meetings/sittings of general meeting of RPC.

Section 2 The journalist makes public only those information of whom truthfulness is sure about and after those information were verified , in general, using two different reliable sources.

Section 4 the journalist is obliged to respect private life of the citizens and won`t use illicit methods to obtain information or pictures of them.

Section 9 The journalist who deliberately distorns information, who makes ungrounded accusations, who plagiarizes and uses photos, video imagines or sources which is not allowed to and the journalist who defames commits breaches of duty of maximum seriousness.
