Elisabeta a II-a a Marii Britanii a vizitat ieri sediul Google din Londra, ultima dovada a convertirii reprezentantei celor mai vechi traditii britanice la noile tehnologii globale.

Insotindu-si, ca de obicei, consoarta, printul-consort Philip s-a aratat foarte curios în legatura cu mecanismele Google – dar si mirat de faptul că multi utilizatori postează pe Internet filmulete cu imagini din viata personală şi jurnale.

Institutia monarhica si cuplul regal de la Londra au adoptat din plin noile mijloace de comunicare. Începând din acest an, mesajul de Crăciun al Reginei este disponibil ca podcast, un distributor de fişiere multimedia pe Internet către telefoane mobile şi calculatoare. Mai mult, Elisabeta a II-a are propriul canal (regal) pe YouTube.

În ultima vreme, Regina Marii Britanii ascultă concerte de muzică clasică pe iPod şi este din ce în ce mai prezentă în spatiul cibernetic, unde chiar postează filmulete din viata familiei regale, comunică prin e-mail şi îşi actualizează pagina de Internet.

What will make its debut Wednesday, therefore, is a Google phone, the very first one: the T-Mobile G1 ($180 with a two-year contract in the United States through T-MobileG1.com). Others will follow in the coming months, including a planned release of the G1 in parts of Europe early next year. The G1 is quite obviously intended to be an iPhone killer.
