Actor Nicu Constantin died, on Tuesday, at the age of 70, after a four-month hospitalization at the Emergency Military Hospital from Bucharest, for severe pulmonary affections.
Gen. Ioan Sarbu, the head of the Military Hospital, said actor Nicu Constantin died at local hour 4.45 p.m., after a cardio-respiratory attack. Doctors managed to bring him back to life, but after the second heart attack, there was nothing doctors could do to save him.
The actor’s wife was beside him all the time. He had turned 70, on July 31.
Nicu Constantin was born on July 31 1939, in Eforie Sud, Constanta. He was the star of "Constantin Tanase" Theater in Bucharest between 1960 and 2000, where he performed over 9,000 shows.
A great actor has died. An exceptional talent. I just learned about his death and I’m extremely moved. His health condition was deteriorated said Alexandru Arsinel.
