Iustin Covei, aged 22, the aggressive son of a family of magistrates from Craiova, was arrested under the charge of having coordinated a vast card tampering network.
Policemen and prosecutors have launched simultaneous raids yesterday in 30 houses in Bucharest, Constanta and Craiova, neutralizing a network of bank card tamperers. They had gone to countries such as Australia, Jordan and Tunisia, falsifying cards, and came back to Romania, where they emptied the victims’ accounts.
Among the leaders of the network is Iustin Covei, the son of a couple of magistrates from Craiova: his father is a judge, his uncle, a prosecutor. Covei jr. is known for the rows he had stirred and road infractions he had committed ever since he was a teenager and for which he received a three-month punishment.
