World’s number one inventor, Mircea Tudor, started at the age of 16 to fix televisions to be able to keep up with his studies. Now, his company is world leader in a Hi-Tech field.

“We can be the basis of a new industry in Romania”

Adevarul: Did the Roboscan project and the prize from Geneva propelled you in a wolrd’s reachest top?

You can say that. There are only two types of products of this type, based on gamma rays scanning, in Europe. Our company used to have good results at that time, too, but the prize we received in Geneva practically doubled its value.

Adevarul: How much did it cost you this invention?

Well, since at the beginning nobody trusted we’re going to make it. When I asked the support of some of our American partners, he said “no”, thinking we won’t be able to do the device. After we did it, there still were unconfident. Now, after winning a prize in Geneva, they are here.

Adevarul: If you have so many technological applications in Roboscan project, couldn’t you create other products, too? Could you create a space shuttle, for example?

You are not far from the truth. We have a project with a vehicle for rough country that started from Roboscan experience. We can make automatic vehicles for toxic environment or fire or explosion danger areas. In Romania, we can be the basis of a real new industry.
