General prosecutor Kovesi to send the request for Monica Ridzi’s penal charge

The Romanian general prosecutor, Laura Codruţa Kovesi, forwarded to the Chamber of Deputies the request for the launch of the proceedings for the penal prosecution of former minister of Youth, Monica Iacob Ridzi, investigated for the agreements with Artisan and Mark companies for the events organized on the Youth Day, May 2nd.

I’ve received the letter from the general prosecutor and I will send it to the Chamber’s General Secretary, to include on the agenda of the Permanent Office called out on Monday. Further on, the request has to get in the hands of the judicial Commission - the forum that can decide on the document said the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Roberta Anastase.

 Six people have been put under charge in Ridzi case, said Daniel Morar, DNA (The National Anticorruption Directorate) head. These are charged of corruption.

The general prosecutor Laura Kovesi explained that the file will be studied and a letter will be send to the Parliament.

Monica Iacob‑ Ridzi is charged of paying, without an auction, two companies with over EUR806,000 for the organiyation of the Youth Days.
