Crisis: Cow farmers rather give the milk to their animals than sell it over nothing

Farmers threaten they would stop selling milk if they won’t get a good price for it.

Peasants’ milk has become pig food! Why? Milk product companies offer maximum 60 bani per liter, which is less than the price of a plain water bottle.

Desperate, farmers threaten they start the protests if their milk is not be better paid. The poor price is not their only trouble: money from the traders comes back to the farmers very late.  The Romanian producers want to follow the model of the Belgian and French farmers, who have thrown millions of liters of milk on the fields.

Since May we haven’t seen any money. We carry off as we can says Heghes Felicia, cattle farmer in Ceanu Mare, Cluj.

The milk is bought from the farmers at the price of 30-60 bani per liter. In the stores, milk’s prices is eight times higher.
