Malpraxis: Judges decided doctor Traian Romeo Ursu should pay a EUR 500,000 indemnification, a decision similar to thae one taken in the case of Dr. “Ciomu”.
Doctor Traian Romeo Ursu submitted a patient to a risky backbone medical intervention, putting the manţs life in peril.
The drama occurred at the Foisor hospital of Orthopedics, from Bucharest. In 2005, Dr. Traian Romeo Ursu (46 years old) has a made premier surgery for Romania: implementing a prosthesis in a case of a surgical intervention for a backbone rupture.
During the procedure the doctor hit too hard a device fixed in the patient’s backbone. The consequences were that patient Dan Dragomir (aged 35) got a 2nd grade locomotive handicap. The doctor had been found guilty by the magistrates of Sector 2 Law Court and was forced to pay an indemnification similar to that of another famous case of doctor “Ciomu”, that is EUR 500,000.
