Discussions about the possibility of importing a million doses of vaccine against A/H1N1 have led to the resignation of secretary of state Adrian Streinu-Cercel.

The Romanian Supreme Council of Defense (CSAT) met yesterday in an emergency meeting to discuss the measures against the aggressive spreading of swine flu.
The Romanian vaccine is ready and it is very good, said the sanitary authorities before the CSAT emergency reunion.
The secretary of state within the Ministry of Health, Adrian Streinu-Cercel, resigned yesterday from the function. Cercel’s decision was taken after he had received a series of critics from president Traian Băsescu on Monday night.
Băsescu claimed Romania didn’t need one million doses of vaccine that Streinu-Cercel would have wanted to import from the international market to outface the situation created by the aggressive spread of A/H1N1 virus.
