American actor Patrick Swayze, known for his performances in films such as "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" died at the age of 57, after a long struggle against pancreatic cancer.

Famous actor and dancer, Patrick Swayze, died after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, in January 2008, only two weeks after the end of the shootings for the pilot episode of "The Beast" serial, where he took the starring role of an undercover FBI agent.
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," his publicist, Annett Wolf said in a statement Monday.
Though doctors said he used to respond well to the cancer treatment, the actor’s apparition in public at Lakers match in Los Angeles, in May 2008, stirred reactions saying Swayze had little to live.
