Secret services forbade the access to Nicolae Pleşiţă’s funeral

Former Security generals and colonels attended the memorial service of the former chief of the External Intelligence Department, general Nicolae Pleşiţă, on Wednesday, where they had been under careful secret services officers’ surveilance.

Pleşiţă was buried in the city where he was born, Curtea de Argeş, at St. Dumitru parochial cemetery, in the presence of about 50 people, who were not allowed by SRI (Romanian Secret Services) officers to enter inside the cemetery. They had been stopped at the entrance of the cemetery.

Pleşiţă died Monday at a SRI hospital in Bucharest, after chronic affections.

The former DIE head was suspected of having delivered guns, munition and money to the famous terrorist Carlos „the Jackal”, Pleşiţă being the intermediary between Nicolae Ceauşescu and the famous Venezuelan man.
