The Romanian public sector unionists announced on Monday they will keep on protesting, considering that none of their problems was solved so far and they might even decide to go on a general strike.
Aurel Cornea, the leader of the Federation of Free Unions in Education, stated that he had already drawn a calendar of protests, which includes aspects specific to each domain of the public sector, as well as general forms of protest that take into account going on general strike.
Spiru Haret Federationţs executive president, Marius Nistor, said the members of the unions' alliance will not discard their claim for the government to drop its measure requiring employees to take ten days of unpaid leave.
Unionists said Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea confirmed that many jobs were to be cut in the near future and layoffs were likely to be made during the enforcement of the unitary wage law.
