Romanian president might dissolve Parliament if reelected
0In case the Parliament rejects two proposals of the government by presidential elections, the Constitution allows the current president to dissolve the parliament after his potential reelection as president, adding he would rather not do so, said Traian Basescu Friday on the public radio.
According to the head of state, if the Parliament does not accept a possible second nominee for prime minister function he could sign the decree dissolving the Legislative the day after the second tour of presidential elections set for December 7, if he is reelected president.
I am sure I have taken a good decision for the country and for the parties by nominating Croitoru as prime minister, Basescu said.
The Romanian President Traian Basescu nominated on Thursday Lucian Croitoru, an advisor to the central bank Governor, as Prime Minister to replace democrat liberal Emil Boc whose Cabinet lost Parliament confidence Tuesday.
