Economy to drop strainedly in the 1st half

GDP contracted by 7.6 % due to all sector markets limitation. The temporary data released yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics show a drop of 7.6 % of the Romanian economy in the first half of 2009 and a decrease of 8.8 % in the second quarter of 2009.

The economy dropped from 6.2 % in the first three months of 2008 to 8.8 % in the same period of 2009, but limited its contraction in comparison with the previous quarter to 1.2 %.
The statistics will report in September the evolution of the Bucharest economy in the first half of the year. But, from the recent reports, it is already visible an evolution in the main sectors, such as industry, constructions, services, foreign trade, wages.
