"Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix", lansat în luna mai 2009 în lumea întreagă, este albumul cel mai realizat al Phoenix, făcând legătura între discurile sale precedente prin amestecul de energie pop şi textura mai sintetică. El a obţinut critici excelente din partea revistei engleze NME şi a revistei americane Rolling Stone.
