Lucian Croitoru, the new prime-minister of Romania
0The Romanian President Traian Basescu nominated respected central bank adviser Lucian Croitoru,, as prime minis, on Thursday.
Lucian Croitoru, aged 52, will replace Emil Boc, whose Cabinet lost a no-confidence vote in parliament Tuesday.
Croitoru has worked at the Romanian central bank for 11 years. He is currently an adviser on monetary policy issues of governor Mugur Isarescu.
In the period September 2003 and July 2007, Croitoru had worked as first advisor to IMF's executive director for Armenia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, the Netherlands, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
Romanian head of state, Traian Basescu said Romania needed a prime minister with economic experience, in connection to the banks and the international financial institutions.
The collapse of a minority cabinet this week sparked concerns over Romania's ability to meet conditions for its 20 billion euro aid package from the International Monetary Fund.
