Honduran workers, slaves for Rodipet
Lebanese Hassan Awdi, former owner of Rodipet press distribution company, is investigated for white slavery.
Between September - November 2008, Hassan Awdi has brought 12 Honduran employees to Romania, confiscating their passports.
“Adevarul” managed to encounter one of the workers from Honduras, who had been hired by Rodipet Co.. The young man, who arrived in Bucharest from the Central America, told reporters about the drastic conditions they had to face during their acitivty at Rodipet .
“It was horrible. There were days I had nothing to eat. The Romanian people used to help us with food. If it weren’t for them, we would have died of starvation" confesses one of Awdi's victims.
